New Botox technologies developed in Russia — company

UFA, May 5. /TASS/. The Microgene scientific production center has been developing a Russian analogue of Botox widely used by cosmetologists in the world. Clinical tests of the Russian analogue named "Relatox" will be complete by August, the press service of the Microgene company told TASS on Tuesday.

The Russian company began the development of Botox production at its affiliated department in Ufa in 2001. The company claims the Russian-made cosmetic product which has no side effects. One of its advantages, according to the press service, is that it is made of natural materials and is produced with the employment of a full production cycle. For the time being only foreign-made Botox has been used on the Russian market, the press service said.

Chief of the medical research department of the Microgene scientific production center Alexey Yershov expressed confidence that the Russian-made Botox matches the foreign analogues in quality, and some of its effects are even better.

The "Relatox" is used to cure skin defects such as wrinkles, malfunctioning of the eye supporting muscle; it has also proved effective for treatment and rehabilitation of patients who suffered a stroke.
