The Russians have named the main achievement of President Vladimir Putin. The basic direction that Putin has been developing during his presidency is economy. A recent poll conducted by Levada Center said that 13 percent of respondents pointed out improvements in the economic field.
Twelve percent pointed out the improvement of living standards of citizens, increase in salaries and pensions. A significant result of Putin's policies, as seen by the Russian people, is the strengthening of Russia's positions in international relations. Others mentioned the improved defensive capability of the country.
The poll unveiled that Putin has contributed to the struggle against crime, protection of democracy and improvement of relations between representatives of various nationalities. In addition, 44 percent said that Putin is personally responsible for the problems in the country and the growing cost of living.
