Christina Dolnik, 32, is a confectionary artist from Kiev, Ukraine, who creates fantastic cakes that deserve to be exhibited in a museum. It’s hard to believe that these crystals, sea creatures, amethysts, wild waves and mountains are edible. Christina does not even have a special education, her profession is an economist.
She didn’t like to cook at all, when she was a student she bought cooked food and went to cafes. But when she got married and gave birth to her daughter, she braced herself and started to cook.
Her sister was arranging her own wedding and spent all the money for the best restaurant, dress and presenter and nothing remained for candies. She asked Christina to help. And the girl had nothing to do but to cook something. She began studying recipes, ingredients and didn’t notice how this occupation captured her interest.
Christina made a nautical themed cake because her sister and her husband liked yachting. It delighted everyone. She was asked to cook cakes for other people. Now she has enough orders for the next 1,5 years. Ukrainian celebrities and serious businessmen are among her clients.
It takes her 2-4 days to make a cake. But one cake demanded a month. It was “Black Pearl” from the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean”.
