Russian Emergencies Ministry to send 41st humanitarian convoy to Donbass

2015/10/14

MOSCOW, October 15. /TASS/. Russian Emergencies Ministry will send its 41st convoy with humanitarian aid to Donbass. "It is planned that today in the morning, the 41st convoy with humanitarian aid for residents of Donetsk and Lugansk Region will depart from the ministry’s Donskoy rescue center in the Rostov Region," the ministry’s press service told TASS.

More than 100 trucks will deliver more than 1,100 tons of humanitarian aid to Donbass, including food (canned food, cereals, tea, salt), necessities, office supplies, firefighting equipment and medicaments. Humanitarian aid was collected by public organizations and labor unions from different Russian regions.

"Before loading cargo, scheduled technical examination of trucks was carried out, they were refueled, and expendable materials were replaced. Drivers received instructions, and they are ready to go," the Russian Emergencies Ministry said.

Since August 2014, convoys delivered more than 49,000 tons of humanitarian aid to Donbass.

Russian Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov said earlier that the ministry will continue providing assistance to Ukraine’s east. "There are no problems in organizing the delivery of humanitarian aid. Only desire is needed. Official Kiev needs to understand that it is responsible for these people who are in such distress," Puchkov said. He added that Ukrainian authorities block the delivery of humanitarian aid to their citizens thus violating Point 7 of the Minsk Agreements. "At the same time, people receive neither pensions nor social payments," the emergencies minister said.
