MOSCOW, September 15. /TASS/. Russia’s race walk coach Yevgeny Yevsyukov was earlier suspended from work over his involvement in reported national athletes’ abuse of prohibited performance enhancing drugs, the Russian anti-doping chief told TASS on Tuesday.
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) published on Monday a global list of Athlete Support Personnel, who were currently suspended from working with athletes or other persons. Eight Russian were included in the total of 114 names list.
"Yevgeny Yevsyukov is the coach, who violated anti-doping violations," Nikita Kamayev, the president of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA), said in an interview with TASS. "He has been disqualified as the coach, who was involved in subscribing athletes prohibited drugs."
Besides Yevsyukov, who was suspended until June 14, 2018, the other seven Russian included in WADA’s blacklist are: the former director of the Olympic Race Walking Training Center in the Republic of Mordovia, Viktor Kolesnikov (suspended until October 20, 2018), freestyle wrestling coach Imran Anzorov (suspended for life), rugby physiotherapist Andrei Kosarev (suspended for life), weightlifting coach Alexander Babedzhanyan (suspended until December 24, 2016), cycling doctor Sergey Lyakhov (suspended until November 4, 2015), basketball doctor Yury Voronchikhin (suspended for life) and cycling coach Pavel Korolyov (suspended for life).
Seven of Russia’s listed sports officials and personnel were often in the focus of media reports, which stated that they all were subjected to various forms of penalties. However, Yevsyukov reportedly continued working at the Moscow-based athletics training center.
