Nizhny Novgorod region works to create automotive cluster

2015/07/09

The work to build an automotive cluster in the Nizhny Novgorod region continues. In the town of Dzerzhinsk, a factory was opened for the production of fasteners for the automotive and other industries.

Vice Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Vladimir Ivanov, said that the automotive industry receives basic profit from the production of car parts, rather than from the production of cars themselves. The opening of the new factory has become another step towards the creation of a large-scale automotive cluster in the region.

"These productions lead to higher profits in car assembly. This is important for us not only in terms of the creation of new jobs and tax collection. It also means that in the course of time, car parts from the Nizhny Novgorod region will arrive not only to Russian, but also to foreign productions," Vladimir Ivanov said.

As many as 40 jobs have been created at A.Raymond RUS factory. The company will operate in the capacity of 10 million fasteners a year.

A.Raymond Group President Antoine Raymond said that entrepreneurs received extensive support from the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod region during the construction of the factory. The businessman found the local market very promising.

"From the French point of view, the Russians are very romantic. They are proud, they live their lives like an exciting novel. They are very brave people, they are willing to walk the path of innovation without fear and pessimism. The combination of Russian romanticism and French pragmatism creates something that I call a real adventure!" Antoine Raymond said.
