YAROSLAVL, July 29. /TASS/. Fighting threats from international terrorist organisations will be on agenda of a meeting featuring leaders of intelligence services, security and law enforcement authorities in Russia’s Yaroslavl.
The meeting is organised under supervision of Russia’s security service - FSB.
It would be the 14th event of the kind and it will be aimed at improvement of the global system of fighting terrorism, where the coordinating role will belong to the UN on the basis of commonly recognised approaches and norms of the international law, FSB’s press service told TASS.
"This year, the meeting will feature 92 delegations from 64 countries and from four international organisations - UN, SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organisation), CIS and the European Union."
The meeting participants will focus on the growing threat from the Islamic State (IS) international terrorist organisation.
The meeting participants will also discuss exchange of information on possible threats to security during preparations to the 2018 World Cup. A mechanism of exchanging information on possible threats and joint reaction to them has been used for a long time already during preparations for major international events.
