KIEV, June 19. /TASS/. Ukraine’s Security Service has frozen 250 ATMs of a payment system used by businesspeople in the self-proclaimed People’s Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk (DPR and LPR respectively), the service’s press office said on Friday.
"Owners of the I-box who had failed to re-register in the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government continued to use these ATMs in the occupied areas in spite of a ban of Ukraine’s National Bank," the press office said.
The Security Service said that the ATMs had been blocked as their owners paid taxes to the DPR and LPR.
The service has searched the Kiev-based offices of the payment system’s owner in line with criminal proceedings.
