YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, April 5. /TASS/. Ships The Spravedlivy and The Andromeda with crew of the wrecked Dalny Vostok trawler onboard are proceeding in the routine mode, a captain on duty of the sea rescue sub-center Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk told TASS on Sunday.
The condition of the Dalny Vostok crew is normal, he said. "We received no information about any deteriorations," he added. Under favorable conditions, the ships will enter the Korsakov port on April 7.
On April 6, a cyclone will influence weather in the Sea of Okhotsk, he noted. "The wind will change, its speed will reach up to 20 meters per second. Bad weather may delay the ships, but it will be clear only tomorrow," the captain on duty said.
The search and rescue operation continues. "Today, search and rescue operation will be continued by air and by sea, including with the help of aviation of the Russian emergencies Ministry," the ministry’s regional center in the Far East said in a statement.
At the moment, a total of 13 fishermen are considered missing. So far, 63 people have been rescued and another 56 have been confirmed dead. The total number of The Dalny Vostok crewmembers who have been retrieved from water dead or alive is 119.
The trawler with 132 crewmembers aboard, some of them foreign nationals, wrecked in the small hours of April 1 about 330 km to the west of the township of Krutogorovsky in the Kamchatka territory and 250 kilometers to the south of Magadan.
It belonged to the Russian fishery company OOO Magellan and was registered in the port of Nevelsk on the island of Sakhalin.
