MOSCOW, October 21 (RIA Novosti) - Vnukovo Airport will do its best to assist with a thorough investigation into the Monday plane crash, that killed French energy giant Total's CEO Cristophe de Margerie, the Chairman of the Board of Directors said Tuesday.
"I am deeply shaken and distressed by the accident and want to assure you that Vnukovo Airport will do its utmost to assist with its rapid, thorough, and objective investigation," Vantsev said in a statement published on the airport's website.
"We do stand ready to continue to provide all-out support and assistance to the ongoing investigation effort," the statement said.
Vantsev added that Vnukovo Airport had disclosed all the relevant data and provided unimpeded access to the crash site for all specialists, working on the case.
French oil and gas company Total CEO Christophe de Margerie was on board the business jet, departing for Paris when it crashed late Monday night in Moscow's Vnukovo-3 Airport after hitting a snowplow during takeoff. None of the four people on board, including de Margerie and three crew members, survived in the crash.
Russia's Investigative Committee is considering traffic control mistake, the snowplow driver's actions, poor weather conditions and pilot error as possible causes of the crash.
The committee claims the snowplow driver was drunk at the time of the accident, but the driver, Vladimir Martynenko, denied the allegations during an interrogation earlier on Tuesday.
