Defense Minister: Malaysia Might Have More Details on MH17 Crash Before July 2015

2014/09/10

MOSCOW, September 10 (RIA Novosti) - Malaysia will be able to get "some" results of MH17 inquiry before July 2015 if all resources are pulled, Malaysian Defense Minister Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said at a press-briefing in Moscow on Wednesday.

"If we pull all of our resources, then we will have some results even before July [2015], we will have more information than we have now, but it is important that it is credible and not open for speculation. You must understand that," Defense Minister said.

"With the MH317 the situation is even more complex, we don't even know where the plane is, so I am used to speculation, I am used to theories. We've always maintained with MH317 that we can only confirm the situation and fact that have been collaborated and very fine. The same with MH17," the minister said. "We used the most sophisticated equipment from China, from Australia, from the US, working on it. I don't see why we can't do the same for MH17."

"Yet, expecting a conclusion only after two months is “premature,” the minister said. “We just want to get down to the truth,” the minister added.

On July 17, a Malaysia Airlines flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed in Ukraine’s eastern region of Donetsk. None of the 298 people on board survived the crash.
