Secrets of Enamelware Manufacture

Today we’ll go to a factory where the best enamelware in Russia is produced. Steel enamelware is perfect for cooking and storing food. Due to the enamel contact with metal is avoided. The factory features a cyclical turnaround producing even package and printing all the necessary information in a printing-office of their own.







Production of enamelware in Russia started in 1913 when Polish specialists were invited to Russia for the purpose of enamelware manufacture. They were intended to keep the technology secret but failed to do so because of the events of 1917 when the Poles had to leave Russia together with the Anti-Communist forces. In 1921 Yevgeny Kuklin managed to unveil the mystery looking at the residues of enamel paint in drains.



Here the kitchenware is divided into certain groups in a certain sequence.



Enamel is a colored silicate glass of complex composition. It is composed of mineral and organic components called frit which turns into the enamel after firing. Enamel is a glass applied on a metal base.



After that the ware is washed.



The conveyors move products from one level to another.
