MOSCOW, February 5 (RIA Novosti) – A funeral director has been detained in Russia’s Baltic exclave of Kaliningrad after illegal drugs were found in his hearse, local police said Wednesday.
The man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was arrested when he drove a coffin to a funeral. Police found 47 grams of amphetamine and a stash of marijuana hidden in a glove.
“The man assumed that nobody would search a hearse going to a funeral,” the regional anti-drug police department said in a statement.
“The suspect turned out to be a drug user himself,” the statement said.
