Walking Down the Spiral

2012/12/19

There are some places where you want to come back again and again. And not because they are too interesting or unusual but because they are too big to see everything in one visit. This is one of them. After dull days at offices it’s something incredibly new.

Icicles, stalactites and stalagmites are everywhere.

It’s an abandoned warehouse of firefighting materials.

It’s an impromptu fire shield.

Nearby is a vent gateway.

And this is a small electrical substation.

Here used to be rails and trolleys. Later big diesel machines appeared.

The crosscut suffered from the strong rock pressure.

The rocks were too heavy.

Further the crosscut is filled with waste rock amost to the top.

The ore was taken away on overloaded trucks.

They all resemble a huge maze.

This gallery is two meters high at some places.

They abandoned a lot of equipment here.

As it was expected we haven’t seen everything so we are going to come back to this place again.
