Soviet Most Beautiful Car Chaika in 21st Century

2017/08/06

This car was built for Soviet bosses. Nowadays it looks like it came straight out of 1960s records covers, photoalbums of our babushkas or propaganda Soviet books. However this “bird” – Chaika is translated as seagull to English – you can still meet it in Russia. Sometimes at very unexpected locations like this one going by rails on a railroad.  Actually this photo was made in Hungary, in Budapest railroad museum in 2015.

One of the best preserved Chaika cars is in Moscow. Is often used for wedding rentals.

This one is 9,000 km away – on Russian Pacific coast.

This one was an upgraded version of the car. It belongs to Ministry of Defense of Belarus.

This one was photographed in 2009 in Czech Republic.
