What will happen if you install a jet plane engine into a small Soviet (Russian) van? You probably would picture a race car that make a speed record somewhere on a salt sea. However it is not also this. Look at this picture – inside this van there is a jet gas turbine engine is installed in it. The same one that airplanes have.

Man Was Making Moonshine for Sale Deep in Woods in Belarus
When police arrived they found out that the man had a truck parked deep in woods. In the back of that truck he had a whole vodka production factory going on at fool scale with over 300 liters of ready made product waiting aside.
He tried to mask the truck with branches, probably so that it couldn’t be seen from air or from long range. He moved the truck from time to time across the forest so that not to stay in one place for long.
Here is his operation going on.

The Story of an Abandoned Nuclear Lighthouse near St.Petersburg
From first sight this abandoned lighthouse doesn’t attract much attention. What, haven’t we’ve seen some abandoned lighthouses? There are plenty of abandoned stuff in exUSSR. However this one is very special. It has a very dramatic story behind it.
So according to the legend, in year 2003 a few of Russian looters has opened the doors of this lighhouse. There they found something reminding a huge bank safe. They were happy to try open it and finally broke in. However this was not a bank safe, but a nuclear reactor compartment which contained Strontium-90 nuclear capsule. The looters took this capsule and instantly died. The capsule itself went thru their hands and then thru the concrete floor into the ground.

Samara city suburbs.

Russian Dmitry Donskoy Submarine and Peter the Great Battle Cruiser Arrived to the Gulf of Finland
Russian Dmitry Donskoy atomic submarine and Peter the Great battlecruiser arrived to St.Petersburg to participate in Navy Day Parade today. Here are some photos and also a video of the whole parade. It’s the first time such big ships participate in a Navy parade.
Here are them both entering St.Petersburg suburbs – Kronstadt on the Kotlin Island in the Gulf of Finland.
Oleg, the photographer say you don’t need to go and choose some specific location to make the photo: the ships so big you can take good photo from any place in a port.

Two days in Moscow in 1982
So this is a kind of a time machine. Foreign tourist arrived in Moscow April 30th 1982 and stayed there two days. He made numerous photos of what he saw around. Now we can see them too.
Some people say 1982 was the last year of the true USSR.
Then some crazy things started to happen – this year Soviet long-in-power Brezhnev died. He was in power since 1964 – almost 20 years. After his death Soviet leaders started dying one after another almost each year.
Andropov demanded to “raise labor effectivity” which was pretty absurd.
