The arrival of foreign stars in the Soviet Union was a significant event. It was significant both for Soviet citizens, and for the star. Foreign celebrities came to our country on tour or filming, to participate in festivals, and some of them came even as tourists.

An amusing incident occurred during the 1961 Film Festival of the year. At the reception in the Kremlin, Gina Lollobrigida and Elizabeth Taylor came in identical Dior dresses. The only difference in outfits was only in belts. Taylor's belt was blue, Lollobrigida's one was red. Gina Lollobrigida was the first who left an awkward situation, greeting Elizabeth with an exclamation "What a beautiful dress!"
