Since Soviet state demise most of the Russians found themselves living in typical old Soviet buildings. Most of the buildings had balconies and this is where the urge for individuality got it expressing point. People started modding their balconies heavily for a number of reasons. First, most of the balconies were just open air balconies and were not isolated from outside, so they couldn't be used in winters, during rains etc. So first stage of modding a balcony was to turn it into sort of a room to be able to use it all year round. Since everyone was making this job separately from other people living in same apartment building the design of those emerged into really diverse variety. And since every balcony was a individually designed people started to decorate them also heavily often. So lets see what happened with this selection of what might be forty most crazy modded Russian balconies!
