Russia’s F1 GP weekend in Sochi was super — F1 CEO

SOCHI, October 11. /TASS/. This year’s Formula One Grand Prix in Russia’s southern city of Sochi was better comparing with the previous GP and the racing weekend was "super," F1 CEO Bernie Ecclestone told TASS on Sunday.

Asked to compare this year’s race with the inaugural one last season, Ecclestone said "It’s better, because everybody is more relaxed and nobody is on tension."

"It turned out to be a really super weekend," Ecclestone said in an interview with TASS. "It was a happening, a super race."

Reigning World Champion Lewis Hamilton from team Mercedes reinforced his strong lead on the way to another champion’s title this year after winning the 2015 F1 Russian Grand Prix in Sochi on Sunday.

After Hamilton’s Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg, who started the race from the pole position, retired almost in the start of the GP due to his car’s reported technical failure, the British racer dominated the circle eventually stepping on the top of the podium.

Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel, who is the four-time Formula One champion, finished the race under the cloudy skies of the Russian Black Sea resort city of Sochi in the second place and Mexico’s Sergio Perez claimed for his Force India team the first podium this season finishing in the third place.
