WASHINGTON, October 15. /TASS/. Military officials of Russia and the United States reached progress during a third video conference aimed to negotiate the agreement on safe flights for Russia and the US-led coalitions' aircraft over Syria, US Department of Defense spokesman Capt Jeff Davis said in a statement on Wednesday.
"Progress was made during the discussions, which were professional and focused narrowly on the implementation of specific safety procedures," the statement said.
Along with this, Davis would not specify the details of the consultations but confirmed that the two countries’ defense ministries had had the third video conference to agree the safety rules for flights over Syria.
Yesterday, the Russian Defense Ministry's press service said that during the consultations the sides "are getting closer in positions on the key items of the would-be document."
"The sides' further steps have been coordinated," the ministry said. "Like the previous ones, the discussion was professional and was held in a constructive atmosphere."
