Russian aircraft make more flights in Syria - defence ministry

MOSCOW, October 10. /TASS/. Aircraft of the Russian grouping in Syria over the past 24 hours made 64 flights from the Hmeimim air base targeting 55 facilities of the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group, speaker of the Russian Defence Ministry Maj Gen Igor Konashenkov said on Saturday.

"The growth of flights follows information from the air and space reconnaissance about additional targets across the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic," he said adding the flights are made by Sukhoi Su-34, Su-24M and Su-25SM planes.

Russian aircraft of the aviation grouping in Syria over the past 24 hours destroyed 29 field camps of the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group, Igor Konashenkov said.

"The aviation grouping over the past 24 hours destroyed two command centres of the militants, an ammunition depot in the Hama Province, 29 field camps, 23 fortified stations and positions with ammunition and equipment," he said.
