2015/10/10

MOSCOW, October 10. /TASS/. Russia’s President Vladimir Putin will visit on October 11 the Russian stage of Formula1 in Sochi, the presidential press service said on Saturday.

The world’s largest country hosted its inaugural F1 race only a year ago, although Ecclestone was in talks of hosting the most prestigious auto racing sport event sine 1980s. On October 14, 2010, Russia received the right to host a stage of GP. Under the agreement, Russia is to host them annually from 2014 through to 2020.

The 2015 F1 season kicked off with the Australian Grand Prix on March 15, while Russia’s GP is scheduled for October 11 - the 17th out of 21 GPs on this year’s racing calendar.
