Ukraine says injected 15.3 bln cubic meters of gas in underground storage facilities

KIEV, September 21. /TASS/. As of Monday morning 15.3 bln cubic meters of gas is stored in underground storage facilities in Ukraine, and the daily injection regimen is 38.7 mln cubic meters, Ukrtransgaz press service reported Monday.

"In total 7.7 bln cubic meters of natural gas was injected this year in underground storage facilities," the statement said.

In August 1.503 bln cubic meters of gas was injected in underground storage facilities, and since the beginning of September storage facilities of Ukraine were filled with 0.8 bln cubic meters of natural gas.

Ukraine transports gas to Europe in the mode of 189.9 mln cubic meters per day, as of September 21, prior application provides transportation of 202.8 mln cubic meters.

Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak has repeatedly pointed out that 15 bln cubic meters of gas storage is not enough for comfortable winter season. Injection of gas into underground storage facilities in Ukraine, the Minister noted, should start as soon as possible in order to have time to inject 2-4 bln cubic meters of gas to bring the level up to 17-18 bln cubic meters.
