UFA, September 24. /TASS/. Russia’s Chief Mufti Talgat Tadzhuddin has congratulated all Muslims in the country with the Eid al-Adha religious holiday.
He called on all Muslims to help each other and be more compassionate. "Let this holiday come and fulfill all kind hopes and aspirations, full of generosity and goodness of the All-Merciful Creator, to our homeland, to the whole world and all humans," Tadzhuddin said.
The Chief Mufti also read the congratulations by the Russian president and prime minister.
Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed hope that "Russian Muslims will be able to continue participating in the country’s life in full measure, facilitate the development of inter-national and inter-religious dialogue, strengthening of peace and accord in the society."
"This holiday that celebrates the end of Hajj — the pilgrimage of Muslims to ancient holy places, brings people closer, involves them into centuries-old religious, spiritual and historical traditions of their predecessors," the president said in his congratulation.
"It is encouraging that the life of Russia’s Muslim community is actively developing, fills with meaningful initiatives in the spheres of culture and education, charity and bringing up the younger generation," Putin stressed. "New mosques and madrasas are being built, the system of religious education is being improved. I will note that this year, thousands of Muslims will celebrate Eid al-Adha in the Moscow Grand Mosque which has been reborn today," he added.
