MOSCOW, September 29. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that those who killed opposition politician Boris Nemtsov will be found and prosecuted. He said as much in an interview with American journalist Charlie Rose for the CBS and PBS TV channels.

"I said it at once that this is a disgraceful chapter of our contemporary history and that the criminals must be found, identified and punished," Putin said answering a question whether the people who killed Nemtsov would be prosecuted to the fullest.

The president noted that, perhaps, in Russia such investigations are carried out not as fast as one would like them to, but the investigative work does have results. "And despite the fact that the investigation has been underway for a long time, it will eventually be concluded," he said.

Co-chairman of the Parnas opposition party Boris Nemtsov was shot in central Moscow on February 27. The key figure in the case is Zaur Dadaev, whom investigators consider to be the direct perpetrator of the crime. He is under arrest, along with Khamzad Bakhaev, Anzor Gubashev, Shahid Gubashev and Tamerlan Eskerkhanov who are accused of the involvement in the crime. None of them defendants admitted their guilt. The investigation in the Nemtsov case has been extended until November 28.
