MOSCOW, September 28. /TASS/. The first full-format meeting of the Russian and US presidents in two years will take place Monday in New York.
After their speeches at the UN General Assembly session, Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama will hold a conversation that will last about an hour.
Putin and Obama last held talks in June 2013 on the sidelines of the G8 summit in Northern Ireland.
However, since the start of 2014, the Russian-US relations have declined against the backdrop of the Ukrainian crisis.
After that, Putin and Obama have only twice had a short conversation on the move and several times spoken to each other by phone.
During his stay in New York that will last about 10 hours, Putin will present at the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly his vision of the modern situation in the world and ways to resolve the most acute problems, and will hold separate meetings with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and some other counterparts.
Russia’s president last spoke at the UN in September 2009. The presidential post was then held by Dmitry Medvedev.
