UNITED NATIONS, September 29. /TASS/. Moscow hopes the situation around the Syrian peace settlement process will not deteriorate, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters on Monday.
"We don't expect a breakthrough but the situation shouldn't deteriorate," he said.
The Syrian problem is one of the main topics for discussion at meetings and conferences in various formats at the 70th jubilee session of the UN General Assembly underway in New York.
Earlier on the same day, the conflict in Syria was discussed at a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Barack Obama.
