Kremlin spokesman describes Russian-Turkish gas cooepration as "usual"

2015/09/23

MOSCOW, September 23. /TASS/. Russia’s cooperation with Turkey is taking its routine course in spite of some difficulties.

"The activities are underway. This is rather complicated work. Everything is taking its usual course," the Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, told reporters on Wednesday replying to a question about developments in the gas cooperation between the two countries.

In his words, not all matters may be resolved before elections to Turkey’s parliament (Majlis) scheduled for November 1, which slowed the deals down.

Touching upon Russian-Turkish relations, the Kremlin official said, "this year we consider a certain decline in the mutual trade, but Turkey remains our important partner."

"Before the yearend, the Russia-Turkey Supreme Council will be held, where [Russian President Vladimir] Putin and [Turkish President Recep Tayyip] Erdogan will meet again and receive one more chance to ‘compare notes’," Peskov added.
