Czech president to urge Russia, China, West to unite against IS

PRAGUE, September 25. /TASS/. Czech Republic’s President Milos Zeman plans to call on Russia, China and the Western countries at the UN General Assembly’s session to unite efforts in the fight against the Islamic State terrorist group, the president’s spokesman, Jiri Ovchachek said on Friday.

"Milos Zeman on Saturday leaves for New York to participate in the 70th anniversary session of the UN General Assembly," the spokesman said. "In his speech, the president will put forward the initiative of setting up international anti-terrorist forces."

The Czech leader will call on the global powers to unite against the IS, which he says poses the main threat.

"The Czech president urges Russia, the European Union, China and the United States to unite efforts against international terrorism," Ovchachek said.

Zeman believes that the global powers can achieve victory soon, he said.
