WASHINGTON, July 30. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry are expected to have a meeting in Doha, capital of Qatar, Department of State official spokesman Mark Toner said on Thursday.
He said he thought the meeting on August 3 would take place indeed or at least it had been scheduled.
Toner recalled that Kerry and Lavrov were meeting quite often to discuss details of the situation around the Iranian nuclear programme but other issues were also getting on to their agenda regularly - for instance, the Syrian conflict settlement, Ukraine and others.
Kerry said in New York last Friday as he spoke at the Council on Foreign Relations he would have a bilateral meeting with Lavrov in Doha. Toner confirmed these plans remained in effect.
Syria would naturally be taken up at the talks, he said.
