Sergey Polonsky sent to psychological and psychiatric forensic examination

MOSCOW, June 2. /TASS/. Businessman Sergey Polonsky accused of fraud has been sent to psychological and psychiatric forensic examination, spokeswoman for the Russian Interior Ministry Elena Alexeyeva told TASS.

"Today Mr.Polonsky has been sent to a comprehensive psychological and psychiatric forensic examination to evaluate his mental capacity, as well as the presence of attachments that require compulsory medical treatment. The examination will be conducted at the Serbsky Center for Social and Forensic Psychiatry," Elena Alexeyeva said.

The businessman was arrested on May 15 on his own yacht a few dozen kilometres off the coast of the city of Sihanoukville along with his five assistants. The Interpol issued a wanted notice for Polonsky at the request of Russia’s Interior Ministry. He was then deported to Russia and taken to a detention centre immediately after landing at Moscow’s Domodedovo airport.
