MOSCOW, June 5. /TASS/. A Russian defence ministry satellite launched by a Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket from the Plesetsk spaceport has been successfully put into designated orbit, Dmitry Zenin, a spokesman for the Russian space defence forces, said on Friday.
"The space craft has been put into the designated orbit. The satellite separated in a routine mode," he said.
He said the carrier rocket had been launched at 18:24 Moscow time from launching pad 4 at the Plesetsk spaceport under the command of Lieutenant General Alexander Golovko, the commander of the Russia space forces.
It was the first Soyuz-2.1a launch after an abortive launch of such carrier rocket with a Progress M-27M cargo spaceship on April 28 and the second launch performed by the Russian military from the Plesetsk spaceport in 2015. The previous launch took place on February 27.
