Ukraine's leader bans films promoting Russian security agencies

KIEV, April 2. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Thursday signed a decree banning Russians movies and TV series promoting Russia's security agencies.

"Any distribution of any films which contain popularisation or promotion of any actions of [Russian] law enforcers, armed forces and other power structures is prohibited in Ukraine," the decree says.

On February 5, the Verkhovna Rada, the country's parliament, imposed serious restrictions on the distribution of movies and TV series released after 1991 about the Russian armed forces calling them "a threat to Ukraine's national security."
