Three dead, 14 injured after passenger bus crashes in Russia’s western Siberia

YEKATERINBURG, April 27. /TASS/. Three people were killed and 14 more injured after a passenger bus swerved off a highway and turned over in Russia’s western Siberia, a spokesman for the local Interior Ministry’s department reported on Monday.

A passenger bus with over 20 passengers was en route from the city of Tyumen to Khanty-Mansiysk and crashed on early Monday.

"All injured were taken to hospitals in Khanty-Mansiysk and the village of Gornopravdinsk," the spokesman said. "Police officers work at the scene of the accident and the traffic has been partially closed."

Anzhela Borisova, a spokeswoman for a local traffic police department, told TASS that the three people killed in the tragic accident are a woman and two men.

"In all, there were 24 people in the bus at the time of the accident," she said. "According to unconfirmed data, the driver steered the bus in the upcoming lane trying to drive around a pot-hole in the road but lost control of the vehicle on the slippery highway.".
