MOSCOW, April 10. /TASS/. Russian paratroopers and servicemen of the rapid response forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization will take a 70-kilometer dogsled ride in the Arctic, a spokesman for the Russian Airborne Troops said on Friday.

"The [dog] sleds allow paratroopers to move at a speed of 6-7 kilometres per hour," Colonel Yevgeny Meshkov said.

Each sled weighs more than 200 kilograms, he added.

The paratroopers started their Arctic drills on April 7.

The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) comprises Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
