HANOI, March 6. /TASS/. Russia is counting on signing a framework agreement to build a nuclear power plant (NPP) in Vietnam as soon as possible, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Monday after talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Tan Dung.
"We have discussed nuclear energy cooperation, the current situation in this sector in general. I hope that in the near future we will signed a general framework agreement with the schedule of the project’s implementation", Medvedev said.
The Russian PM also said that cooperation in oil and gas sector was also on the agenda.
"We discussed the Vietnamese shelf projects as well as the operation of out oil and gas companies in Russia. We committed ourselves to ensure favorable conditions for the activities of both countries on the territory of Russia and Vietnam", Medvedev said.
