Nuclear reactor of burning submarine at Russian shipyard shut down before fire — source

MOSCOW, Apeil 7. /TASS/ The nuclear reactor of the submarine that caught fire at Russia's Severodvinsk shipyards had been shut down before the fire broke out, a source told TASS.


It was earlier reported that a submarine undergoing repairs at the Zvyozdochka shipyards caught fire.


"According to preliminary information, the rubber insulation between the submarine’s light and pressure hull is on fire. The submarine is in a dry dock. There is no ammunition on board," the source said.
