KALININGRAD, April 28. /TASS/. Two small antisubmarine warfare (ASW) ships of Russia’s Baltic Fleet - the Aleksin and Kalmykia boats have destroyed a submarine of an imaginary enemy during naval combat drills, fleet’s spokesman Captain Second Rank Vladimir Matveyev said on Tuesday.

"The search for the submarine the actions of which were simulated by the crew of the Vyborg diesel submarine, was conducted with aerial support of two antisubmarine helicopters Kamov Ka-27P of the fleet’s naval aviation," Matveyev said.

He said that the ASW ships’ crews successfully identified the target and simulated its destruction, despite the Vyborg’s high acoustic stealth.

During the exercise, the navy men practiced firing the RBU-6000 antisubmarine rocket launchers, as well as used torpedo armament in the drills.
