KIEV, October 1 (RIA Novosti) - The Ukrainian government has revoked an agreement with Russia on joint construction of a bridge over the Kerch Strait, Cabinet Minister Ostap Semerak said Wednesday.
"According to the provisions of this agreement, we had to notify Russia through diplomatic channels six months prior to the withdrawal. We did it, and now we have revoked the agreement at a government meeting," Semerak told reporters in Kiev.
Ukraine and Russia agreed in 2010 the joint construction of the bridge spanning the strait between the Kerch Peninsula of Crimea and the Taman Peninsula of Russia's Krasnodar Territory.
However, Crimea became part of Russia after referendum in April. Kiev refuses to recognize the reunification of Crimea and Russia.
