Records of Crashed Falcon Jet Crew Conversations to Remain Confidential: Russia

2014/10/23

MOSCOW, October 23 (RIA Novosti) – Investigators will not publish conversations of air traffic controllers and the crew of the French jet that crashed in Moscow’s Vnukovo airport on Monday night, a senior Russian air crash investigator said Thursday.

“As far as the conversation between the crew and the tower is concerned, we are not planning to do this at the moment, as this is against the rules of the investigation,” said Sergei Zaiko, a first deputy chief of the Interstate Aviation Committee (MAK), an air disaster investigation body in Russia and other ex-Soviet states.

“However, the final report may include some extracts from the conversation of the crew and the air traffic controllers if they are useful for the main purpose of the investigation, for safer flights,” he said.
