MOSCOW, October 21 (RIA Novosti) - President of the French energy company Total Christophe de Margerie died in a plane crash at Moscow’s Vnukovo airport early Tuesday, Vnukovo representative stated.
"Tonight, a plane crashed when it collided with a snow-clearing machine. Three crew members and a passenger died. I can confirm that the passenger was Total’s head [Christophe] de Margerie," the airport's spokesperson Elena Krylova told Reuters.
Earlier, the airport’s press service told RIA Novosti that a Falcon 50 jet crashed Tuesday night in the Vnukovo-3 airport. The cause of the crash was the jet’s collision with a snow machine on the runway.
The aircraft was performing a flight from Moscow to Paris with one passenger on board. Vnukovo press service expressed condolences to the families of those killed in the plane crash.
