Peskov: Obama’s Claims of Ukraine Invasion Contradict State Department’s Stance

2014/09/03

MOSCOW, September 3 (RIA Novosti) – US President Barack Obama’s attempts to accuse Moscow of invading Ukraine clearly contradict the stance of the US Department of State, which stated there was no proof of it, the Russian president’s spokesman said Wednesday.

Obama told reporters in the Estonian capital Tallinn Wednesday that he had no doubts about Russian military involvement in the eastern Ukrainian conflict.

“We have repeatedly said there is no Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine. While Obama says there can be no doubts about that, US Department of State officials say simultaneously with their president that the United States has no proof of Russian military presence in Ukraine. This situation underscores their reluctance to use facts,” Dmitry Peskov told the Russkaya Sluzhba Novostei radio station.
