Kiev Banning 11 More Russian Journalists From Entering Ukraine

MOSCOW, August 28 (RIA Novosti) - The National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council of Ukraine has expanded the list of Russian media professionals for the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) banned from entering the country, the council’s spokesperson said Thursday.


“Last time the list consisted of 38 people. Now, considering the situation in the country and the current developments, we have expanded this list to include 49 people,” Ukrainian Broadcasting Council Chairman Yuri Artemenko said, adding that the list has already been passed on to the SBU.


Artemenko also noted that the SBU has already banned more than 20 journalists, whose names were included in the initial version of the list, from entering Ukraine. The list includes the director general of the Russia’s Channel One television station, Konstantin Ernst, the director general of All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK), Oleg Dobrodeev, the director general of the NTV television station, Vladimir Kulistikov, the director general and the editor-in-chief of Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency, Dmitry Kiselev and Margarita Simonyan, as well as journalist Sergei Dorenko and actor Ivan Okhlobystin.
