MOSCOW, August 16 (RIA Novosti) - “Fast and furious” Auto Air Show will take place during international defense exhibition Oboronexpo 2014 over the weekend, according to the organizers.
“‘Fast and furious’ show is an auto air competition that will see automobiles and aircraft racing along the takeoff runway at the airfield. A team of Russian and international motorsport stars challenges a team of fighter jet pilots in order to showcase the performance capabilities of modern technology, as well as their skill and professionalism,” the organizers of the show said.
The pilots’ team will fly the Yak-52 aircraft, the L-39 and Yak-130 trainer aircraft, the MiG-29 fighter jets, and the Su-30 fighters among other planes. The drivers’ team will drive Ford Mustang, Dodge Challenger, Nissan GTR, alongside the automobiles of such brands as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti, and Aston Martin to name a few.
The international Oboronexpo 2014 military technology exhibition is taking place in Zhukovsky, Moscow Region, from August 13 to 17. The event involves more than 200 Russian firms and foreign companies from Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Germany, India, China, the United States of America, France, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland.
The expo provides an opportunity for discussions and cooperation among industry players. The equipment and hardware showcased at the exhibition can also be seen in action at a range located at the exhibition site.
