MOSCOW, July 15 (RIA Novosti) – The death toll in the deadly Moscow subway accident climbed to 22, a medical source told RIA Novosti late Tuesday.
“A total of 162 people were killed and injured in the accident, 22 of them died,” the source said.
129 people currently remain in 15 local hospitals.
“11 more people received ambulatory care,” the source added.
A Moscow subway train derailed during the morning rush hour on Tuesday.
A day of mourning has been declared in Moscow for those who died in the deadly accident.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed his condolences to the families and friends of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
