In St. Petersburg they have a tradition to make a massive event called “Red Sails” for the high school graduates each year for almost twenty years. They had the same tradition in 1970s during the Soviet reign, however I doubt it looked any close as colorful they make it now. Photographer Marina has climbed the top of the Hermitage building to make the photos of the event. Fireworks, actual sail ship with red sails, party lights – all this photoed from the top of the most famous St. Petersburg building which was a residence of Tsar at pre communist Russia.
25,000 fire works were fired at that night, see the fireworks below.
