2014/03/27

SEVASTOPOL/MOSCOW, March 27 (RIA Novosti) – More than 30 warships and service vessels used in the Ukrainian Navy will become part of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet after they are inspected, a source in Russia’s Black Sea Fleet Headquarters said on Thursday.

“Ships that were sailing previously under the Ukrainian flag will not be automatically included in the [Russian] Black Sea Fleet until they have undergone technical inspections and we can define which ships will enter the fleet, and which ones will be scrapped,” the source said.

He said the ships’ technical readiness would be completed by specialists from Russia’s Navy and shipyards from the Black Sea Fleet.
