MOSCOW, March 27 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Thursday called on a number of ministries to prepare an initiative by April 15 on making Crimea a special economic zone.
"The Russian Economic Development Ministry, Finance Ministry, Regional Ministry together with other interested federal organs from the executive branch and government authorities in the Republic of Crimea and the city with Federal Status, Sevastopol, are to design and deliver in the stated timeframe to the Russian government initiatives on creating a special economic zone on the territories of the Republic of Crimea and the city with Federal Status, Sevastopol," according to a statement on the government's official website. The deadline was set for April 15.
