MOSCOW, February 2 (RIA Novosti) − Police in the Moscow Region said Sunday they have detained an alleged owner of the Kalashnikov rifle left in a coatroom of IKEA furniture store, who is a suspect in a quadruple murder.
The 1974 assault rifle and more than 100 rounds of ammunition were discovered Tuesday morning at the Swedish retailer store in the Moscow suburb of Khimki.
The police said Sunday that the man who allegedly left the gun has been detained outside Moscow. The investigators plan to check whether the man, whose identity was not disclosed, was involved in the murder of four workers found dead with shot wounds after a fire in the capital last Monday.
