The destiny of An-10 planes was not happy, neither was the history of its monuments. In 1973 many of the aircrafts were discarded due to their poor condition. Most of them became monuments and together with Il1-8 and Tu-104 were widely used for improvement of different Russian cities in the 70-80s. The situation changed in the 90s. It was announced that An-10 monuments had an unkempt appearance and all of them were destroyed. The real reason – highly increased prices for non-ferrous metals. Others simply suffered from vandals back in the 80s. As a result only one An-10 aircraft was preserved – it is located in the museum of Monino, Moscow region. Strangely enough that other museums didn’t try to acquire the disappearing planes.
